Just some kid from the Chicago suburbs that moved to the southwest, went to law school, and ended up confronted with shifting ideals. My thoughts...boring and unedited.

was watching pbs tonight...specials on bobby kennedy and martin luther king.

why is it that when this country produces someone to speak for the downtrodden and forgotten of it's citizens someone makes sure to put a bullet in their head? suppose it is part of the american legacy...shots to the head.

i wonder if we would have made more progress in this country if we could have managed not to kill a few people...lincoln, rfk, mlk, rfk...would we get along better? had reconstruction gone differently would it we still have so far to go? if either of the kennedy boys bent to tie a shoe would we still be in this predicament? how invaluable would a peaceful leader like mlk be during these times? could his message have reached the american people? would it have made a difference in the inner city?

if leaders need to be shot...why is it never the other side? why isn't it status quo leaders that get done in? it seems like a cruel, cruel joke of history that these four men died and reagan survived.

makes me want to run for office though...somebody has got to make it one of these days...god knows we could use one now.

if i had thirteen wonderful songs.

well said friend, but lets face it - EVIL NEVER DIES. A Case in point is the weekend at Burney's corpse that has been masquerading as the following evil bastards for the past millenia: Jesse Helms (Segregation now, segretion then, segregation for-evah), Rehnquist (ressusitate the corpse of Terry Shaivo so I may live once more), the Pope (yes, the Pope, the same guy that didn't investigate child rape by the priesthood and ramains adamant that Onan's failure to copulate with his sister-in-law meant we can't use condoms), Queen Elizabeth (the current one who presided over her magic colonial kingdom filled with racist apartheid and oppression with ease, bad style, and the pageant qinner wave), Castro (evil to the extent that his people remain impoverished and starved after the iron curtain came down), Barbara Bush (she thinks the refugees in the superdome had it made compared to their urban squalor where there were toilets, running water, and corpses were properly buried in the cemetary), and a host of other crazies that I could put here. The point is that as GVW correctly surmised, we are in the time of the evil spirit. This imbalance however, cannot remain forever - so hopefully the young hot guy that posed as RFK, JFK, and currently as Obama will save us from this current evil regime.
