paying off student loans and gifts for a lover...

the supreme's sold us out...well, not all of us...just the ones that can't afford to be sold out...bet you are surprised. social security benefits can be taken to pay off old student loans. wonderful...lets take what little safety net some people have away because they wanted to educate themselves.

i know, i know...the government needs the money...gw says there are 7 billion in overdue student loans out there...and 33 billion total. how much was that tax cut again? what tiny percentage of raising taxes on the insanely wealthy would be needed to cover higher education for everyone? i'd be willing to bet you could throw on 5% capital gains taxes along with whatever disgusting incomes some of these folks earn and manage to pay for four years of college for everyone in this country. just a thought.

as i was checking my email today i noticed msn had a thing for 20 great gifts for him and her. did anyone else see this? was anyone else appalled by the choices for gifts and their blatant sexist attitude? back to diamonds and power tools i suppose...
